Watch Here: 2015 Emmy Nominations Announcement, Viola Davis & Taraji P. Henson Make History #HTGAWM #GOT #Empire #Emmys

Nominations for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday by Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black) and Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance).

Game of Thrones received a leading 24 Emmy nominations. The series is a contender again for Top Drama, an award that has eluded it since it’s debut in 2011. TV academy voters rarely give shows in the sci-fi genre the ultimate accolade.

Viola Davis and Taraji P. Henson scored big by making history as the first two black women to earn a  nomination in the same year as ‘Best Lead Actress’. This could also lead to a historical win as a black actress has never been awarded the coveted prize. Two-time nominee Kerry Washington of “Scandal” was left out this year.
