Conservatives complaining that the March on Washington anniversary celebration seems partisan should note that they have only themselves to blame.

Speaker John A. Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the House’s two most senior Republicans, were invited to speak at the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington — but declined. Eric Cantor for his part instead decided to meet with big oil lobbyists and to take to twitter to take a jab at the President.

Various other republicans had open invitations but came up with every excuse from health issues to conflicting scheduling.
